How We Choose to Show Up
“I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 3:14 (NRSV)
Life unfolds whether we are ready or not.
It moves forward with or without our permission. And still—how we live within it matters.
There will be good and bad.
Joy will meet pain.
New life and loss will share the same seasons. Blessings and trials will often arrive together.
While much of life remains outside our control, how we choose to show up is not. Our posture matters. Our stance matters. The way we care for ourselves shapes who we are becoming—our health, our wholeness, and our spirit.
In the middle of life’s constant swings, there is an invitation to remain steady. To keep our eyes lifted. To refuse to let the weight of living pull us away from eternity or from the sacred work of seeing and serving Jesus.
Choosing joy does not mean ignoring hardship. Choosing love does not mean the road is easy. Patience, understanding, and gratitude are practices—formed slowly, imperfectly, and with grace.
We will not always get it right. But we can keep pressing forward. We can continue toward the mark with humility and trust, believing that what is being shaped in us will also touch those connected to us.
